After Noah and his family survived the flood, they began to multiply and the number of people on the earth grew and grew. But instead of obeying God’s command to fill the earth, they decided  to settle in one place. They wanted to make a tall tower that reached to heaven, to make a name for themselves. Instead of operating as part of God’s kingdom, trusting and obeying Him as King, they chose to make a kingdom for themselves. This displeased God and in response to their selfish disobedience He confused their language! They could no longer plan and work together easily because everyone began speaking a different language! This caused the people to spread out and fill the whole earth, as God wanted. One day when God restores His Kingdom, people speaking all languages from all nations of the world will worship the King and enjoy living under His rule and blessing, just as God designed it to be!
