Here are some verses for your family to read about how God knows all things and we can never hide from him:

Psalm 139:7-12

7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.

Jeremiah 23:23 “I am a God who is near,” says the Lord. “I am also a God who is far away.” 24 “No one can hide where I cannot see him,” says the Lord. “I fill all of heaven and earth,” says the Lord.

Discuss

Ask younger kids specific questions about the story or to retell the story. Ask older kids critical thinking questions. Here are a few suggestions:

Can we hide from God?

What stood out to you from these verses?

What does this teach us about God?

What does this teach us about man?

How should we respond to what we read?

Pray

Lead your family in a time of prayer over what you read.

Consider the ACTS model (Adoration- Adore or praise God, Confession- Confess sin, Thanksgiving- Thank God, and Supplication- Ask God to supply our needs)

Today we will focus on S-Supplication: God, we know that You are our Provider. You give us all that we need. You are near to us always and we can never hide from you. We can come to you humbly, asking you to supply our specific needs today and by your grace through Jesus, You hear our prayers. We trust You to answer them according to Your will. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
