If you could ask God for anything, what would it be?
What did Solomon ask God for?
Why do you think Solomon asked for wisdom?
Remind kids that Solomon humbly admitted that he needed God’s help to discern what was right. Apart from the wisdom of God, Solomon would fail to govern Israel rightly. Solomon was most concerned about being a just king and a faithful follower of God.
Who is the only person wiser than Solomon?

God, You are amazing! Because you love us so much you show us mercy; you forgive our sins. Like King Solomon, we are not perfect. We want to be wise by doing what is right. Please help us to obey your word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
